Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (Activision)

The latest video update from co-studio head Chris Plummer, released in December 2023, reiterated that Activision is on target to hit the stated worldwide launch window of spring 2024. Germany and Malaysia are the latest to be added to the soft launch, alongside Australia, Chile, Sweden and Norway.

Candy Crush 3D (King)

As we revealed in December 2023, King is testing this new contender in the growing ‘match 3D’ puzzle genre, currently led by Boombox’s Triple Match 3D, Zynga’s Match Factory and Spyke Games’ Tile Busters. Candy Crush 3D is currently only available in Malaysia on Google Play only.

Candy Crush Blast (King)

As we revealed in January 2024, Candy Crush Blast is currently only available on Android in the Philippines, and appears to be King’s take on Peak’s category-leading blast-puzzlers Toy Blast and Toon Blast.

Clash Mini (Supercell)

Supercell’s take on autochess naturally takes a few cues from Clash Royale. It’s available on iOS and Android in 15 countries, including Canada, the Nordics, UK, Philippines, Chile and Singapore.

Command & Conquer: Legions (Tencent)

This Tencent-made revival of the PC RTS classic is out in 16 countries, including Australia, Canada, Philippines, Singapore and several EU markets including the UK, France and Spain.

CSR 3 (Zynga)

Zynga and NaturalMotion quietly released an Android-only version of CSR 3 in Malaysia in early 2024. As you can see in the video above, the CSR community has already been playing it and posting footage of the game to YouTube, and the big innovation with the new game appears to be cornering.

FamilyScapes (Playrix)

This is a ‘scapes game that leans into a family drama type narrative. It appears to be in soft launch on Android only in the US, Canada, Australia, Indonesia and India.

Family Hero (Playrix)

This ‘scapes game stars a robot called Robin, and follows the typical Playrix formula. It’s out on Android only in Australia, Canada, India and the US.

Game of Thrones: Legends RPG (Zynga)

Zynga’s big brand match-RPG is available on iOS and Android in the Nordics, Spain, Belgium, Philippines and Indonesia.

Gwen’s Getaway (Ubisoft)

This is Ubisoft’s take on the ‘Scapes game, which is out on iOS and Android in Australia, Canada, Finland, India, Netherlands, Philippines, UAE and UK.

HypeHype (Hype Hype)

The studio formerly known as Frogmind, HypeHype, is now making ‘the TikTok for games’. It’s currently in soft launch in Finland and Philippines.

LEGO Hill Climb Adventures (Fingersoft)

This one has been in soft launch for months, and is only on Android in Vietnam for now. It is exactly what the title suggests: Fingersoft’s popular physicsy arcade racing, plus LEGO’s familiar blocky style.

Merge Vikings (Metacore)

Merge Mansion maker Metacore is testing a new puzzler which has a merge-meets battle-and build concept. It’s out on iOS and Android in Australia, Canada, Finland, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland and UK.

Moomin: Puzzle and Design (Rovio)

This puzzle-and-renovate game featuring Finland’s favourite creatures has been in and out of soft launch in Finland, Philippines, US, Poland and (briefly) the US on iOS and Android.

My Talking Hank: Islands (Outfit7)

This forthcoming Outfit7 joint is available on Android and iOS in 12 typical soft launch countries, including Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, and some LatAm markets like Peru, Colombia and Ecuador.

Plants Vs Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia (EA)

This soft launch was announced in January 2024. It is out now on iOS and Android in the UK, Netherlands, Australia and Philippines. At the time EA said it is “near-launch” and a worldwide release will come “later this year”.

Puzzles & Passports (Big Fish)

Unusually, this travel puzzler from Big Fish in now soft launched in 10 big western markets including the US, Canada, UK, Germany and the Nordics. It’s Android only for now.

Rainbow 6 Mobile (Ubisoft)

This big-name shooter’s now in soft launch in Canada, Mexico, Chile and Colombia on iOS and Android, though more territories are being added all the time. Ubisoft also memorably told us that it has 11 studios – plus Tencent! – working on the game.

Royal Kingdom (Dream Games)

This follow-up to the mighty Royal Match is out on iOS and Android in the UK, Canada, Philippines and Turkey. As we discussed in August 2023, it takes the very successful Royal Match formula and adds more PvP competition and a builder element.

Star Wars Hunters (Zynga)

Zynga-owned Brighton studio BossAlien is making this multiplayer arena battler starring some new, original Star Wars characters. It’s available on iOS and Android in 17 countries, including the Nordics, Philippines, Mexico, India and Brazil.

XCOM Legends (Iridium Starfish)

Here’s a strange one: this game has been in soft launch for years, but has never been officially announced by IP owner 2K. It is available in a smattering of the typical soft launch markets on iOS plus the UK, and in the UK only on Android.
